Formed in October 2006 at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama,
the Cosmopolitan Quartet have had masterclasses with Martin Outram, Michal
Kaznowski (both from the Maggini Quartet), Peter Lissauer, and Robert Irvine.
Among their Scottish performances they gave concerts in Glasgow, St Andrews,
and Edinburgh, and have been selected for the 2007 Quartet Symposium at the
Royal Academy of Music in London. They have also won the Governor’s prize for
Chamber Music and the Mabel Glover Prize for String quartet, both at the RSAMD.
The four members come from completely different backgrounds, but nevertheless
thrive and enjoy working together and performing varied & contrasting
pieces of the quartet repertoire.
